ROBINSON, Maryanne “Mia” T. (Dunn) of Braintree, March 17, 2018. It is with great sadness the family of Maryanne announces the passing of a devoted wife and mother with a wonderful spirit, a great sense of humor, and much loved by everyone she met. She passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family after a courageous battle with cancer. Born and raised in Brighton, she attended Saint Mary’s High School. She met the love of her life John and together they enjoyed many years as members of Saint Anthony’s Drum and Bugle Corp. They settled down in Braintree where they have lived for 40 years and raised their devoted daughter and greatest gift, Amanda. She was involved in many community groups and Mia and John resurrected the Braintree 4th of July parade in 2008 and oversaw it for many years, when it was considered one of the finest in New England, bringing joy and entertainment to all who attended. As a longtime town employee in the Parks and Recreation Department she supervised all the trips and summer programs for several years. Maryanne was recently honored by the town at the Braintree Municipal Golf Course with the new function room being dedicated in her name. She enjoyed gardening, reading, taking many vacations with the AARP group and frequent trips to Foxwoods with her friends and sisters. Maryanne was 68 years old. Beloved wife of John Robinson and loving mother of Amanda Robinson of Braintree. Dear daughter of the late John A. and Anne (Kiarsis) Dunn. Devoted sister of Elizabeth Pence of RI, Frances Leonard of Hopkinton and Patricia Daly of Brighton. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Reposing at the Cartwright Venuti F.H. 845 Washington St. Braintree. There will be a visitation period on Thursday from 3:00 to 7:00 PM. Relatives and friends respectfully invited to attend. Burial to be private. There will be a celebration of life immediately following the visiting hours at The Emerald Hall, 120 Baystate Dr., Braintree.
