STAGNONE, Richard R. “Buddy”, of Holbrook, Originally from Dorchester, passed away peacefully on March 9, 2018, after a long illness, at the age of 85. Born in Salem, MA, Buddy attended Boston Public Schools, earned his GED and later attended Massasoit Community College. Buddy proudly served his country in the United States Air Force in Frankfurt, Germany in the mid 1950s. It was there that he met his bride of 62 years. He most recently had worked in collections for U.S. Trust Bank and previously, he had been employed at Polaroid Corp. for 23 years. Prior to Polaroid he delivered bread for Sunbeam. In retirement he was an avid golfer and enjoyed winters in Myrtle Beach, SC with his wife, Maria. A devoted husband, father and grandfather, Buddy will be greatly missed by all who were blessed to have known him. Richard was the beloved husband of Maria (Ziegler) Stagnone. Loving father of Richard Stagnone, Jr. and his wife Paula of Holbrook, John Stagnone and his wife Roberta of Stoughton, Donald Stagnone and his wife Lisa of Brockton and the late Louis Stagnone. Dear Opa to Meredith, Alex, John L., Jessica, Benjamin and Adam and Great Opa to Violet and Nathan. Reposing at the Cartwright Funeral Home, 69 So. Franklin St. (Rt. 37), Holbrook, until 9:00 AM on Thursday, March 15th, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM in St. Joseph Church, 153 So. Franklin St., Holbrook. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Wednesday, March 14th from 4:00 – 8:00 PM. Burial in Knollwood Memorial Park, Canton.
