BRUNO, James V. “Jim” of Boston, died Tuesday surrounded by his loving family, January 30, 2018 at the age of 72. He was the son of the late James V. and Eleanor V. (Angrisano) Bruno. Beloved and dedicated husband of 33 years to Ann Marie (Cammarata) Bruno. Devoted father of Kristen Sherman and her husband Stephen of Scituate, and James V. Bruno and his wife Donna of West Roxbury. As well as the adored “Papa” of Henry and Oliver Sherman.
Loving brother of Joseph M. Bruno and his wife Janice, of Kingston and the late Ellen Bruno. Dear uncle of Jennifer Britt and Michael Bruno, both of Florida. Darling son-in-law of Anna “Mary” Cammarata and brother-in-law of Richard Cammarata, of Randolph. Also survived by his lifelong friend Alan Maffei.
Jim was a graduate of Boston English High School and Northeastern University, earning a BS in Accounting. While in college, he worked with his father at J. Bruno & Sons, a butcher shop in the North End, then later helped his mother open “The Sweet Shop” a classic candy store in Faneuil Hall.
He had a rewarding career in the automobile industry, and was General Manager for several prominent dealerships in the Boston area, including Seacrest Cadillac and Tom O’Brien’s. He also owned and operated C-1 Motors in East Boston. In 1986, Jim founded Automotive Management Consultants (AMC), a recruiting, training, and placement center, which worked with dealers throughout New England. Ten years later, Jim and Ann moved to Florida, and expanded the company.
He had many interests over the years, such as cut-throat Scrabble, skiing, boating, and scuba diving. He worked hard but he always had a lot of laughs. His biggest love was his family, who will miss him very much.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a Funeral Mass Monday February 5, 2018, at 10AM in Sacred Heart Church, 55 Commercial St., Weymouth Landing, 02188. Arrangements are under the direction of the Cartwright Funeral Home, 419 N. Main St., Randolph MA 02368. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in his name to Lewy Body Dementia or to Old Colony Hospice
