DRISCOLL , Roland L.,89, of Braintree, January 21, 2018, surrounded by his loving family. Raised in Roslindale, he was the son of the late Dennis and Lillian (Dow) Driscoll. Roland resided with his family in Braintree for the past sixty years. Beloved husband for 67 years of Alice M. (Leary) Driscoll. Loving father of Dr. Michael Driscoll of Nova Scotia, Mark Driscoll and his wife Carlene of Lincoln, RI, Christine Hayes and her husband James of Wilmington, Justin Driscoll and his wife Mary of Weymouth, Timothy Driscoll and his wife Eileen of Hingham, Laura Dugas and her husband Michael of Stow, Amy Carnicelli and her husband Mark of Braintree, and the late Gregory and Theodore Driscoll. Adored Papa of Nicholas, Linden, Tristan and Heather Hayes, Madison and Benjamin Carnicelli, Nolan and Andrew Driscoll, Courtney Driscoll and Hannah Dugas. Loving brother of Diana Driscoll of Norwood, Richard and his wife Brenda of Houston, and the late James, Donald, Gerard, Margaret Frawley and Lillian Bramlett. Loving brother-in-law of Margaret (Leary) Bergeron of Pocasset. Roland is also survived by many beloved nieces and nephews. He was a 1945 graduate Roslindale High School, and a 1949 graduate of Boston College School of Business. Formerly employed as a comptroller at Plymouth Shoe Co., Middleborough. Roland was the retired Chief Financial Officer of Meditech. He had been with the company since 1972 and served on the Board of Directors. He leaves many dear friends made through his 45 years with the company. He proudly served in the US Air Force as a Staff Sergeant and was a veteran of the Korean War. Spending time with his family at Squam Lake in New Hampshire was Rolandís greatest joy. Roland was a devoted member of the St. Francis of Assisi Church and was a frequent participant in daily Mass at the Pastoral Center. His kindness, gentle spirit and deep faith touched the lives of many. Roland will be missed by all who knew him. Visiting hours will be held Sunday, January 28th from 3:00 - 7:00 pm at the Cartwright-Venuti Funeral Home, 845 Washington Street, Braintree. Funeral services for family and friends from 9:30 - 10:15 am on Monday, January 29th at the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am in St. Francis of Assisi Church, 856 Washington Street, Braintree. Internment to follow at Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree.
