BILEZIKIAN, Ashod A. “Bill”, of Avon, formerly of Newton, passed away on January 13, 2018, after a brief illness, at the age of 90. Born and raised in Newton, Ashod graduated from Newton High School. He then went on to proudly serve his country in the United States Navy during WWII. He was a hardworking man who, until the mid 70’s, ran a scrap metal business in So. Boston and then operated his own excavation company. In his later years, he worked for Hanabury & Sons Paving of Weymouth, MA until, at the age of 80, he retired to become a full-time caregiver to his ailing wife. Ashod was an avid pilot who had earned his commercial pilot’s license. He was part owner of an antique Stearman bi-plane in which he enjoyed performing aerobatics. He also flew seaplanes commercially from a lake in Halifax, providing sightseeing rides around southeastern MA. A devoted husband, father and grandfather, he will be greatly missed by all who were blessed to have known him. Ashod was the husband of the late Marie (Rodrigue) Bilezikian. Loving father of Daniel Bilezikian and his wife Lorenne of Rehoboth. Dear grandfather of Rene Bilezikian McKenney and her husband Nickolas McKenney of Charlestown. Brother of the late Zaroohy Bilezikian, Azadoohy Bilezikian, Arakel Bilezikian and Armen Bilezikian. Reposing at the Cartwright Funeral Home, 419 No. Main St. (RT 28) Randolph. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, January 20th at 12:00 PM in the Lighthouse Baptist Church, 217 Centre St., Holbrook. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Friday, January 19th from 4:00 – 8:00 PM. Burial in Knollwood Memorial Park, Canton, at a later date. Should friends desire, memorial contributions may be made in his name to the Lighthouse Baptist Church, 217 Centre St., Holbrook, MA 02343.
