PASSALACQUA, John B. “Passy”, of Dennis, formerly of Charlestown and Quincy, passed away peacefully on January 2, 2018, surrounded by his loving family. Born and raised in Boston, John graduated from Mission High School. He then went on to earn his Bachelor’s Degree from Boston State College and his Master’s Degree in Special Education from Bridgewater State University. John was a teacher in the Brookline Public School system for many years and retired as the Principal of the Edith C. Baker Elementary School. John proudly served his country in the United States Navy during the Korean War. A devoted husband, father and grandfather, John will be greatly missed by all who were blessed to have known him. John is survived by his beloved wife, Barbara W. (Callahan) Passalacqua. Loving father of Mary Ann Passalacqua of Pembroke, Barbara Passalacqua of Quincy, Lynn Frank and her husband Charles of Walden, NY, Joan Haydon and her husband Mark of Hanson, Lisa Berardinelli and her husband Philip of Braintree and Maria Wills and her husband Forrest of Irwin, PA. Devoted brother of Gilda Getz of St. Petersberg, FL. Also survived by 21 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Reposing at the Cartwright-Venuti Funeral Home, 845 Washington St., Braintree, until 9:30 AM on Saturday, January 6th, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:30 AM in St. Francis of Assisi Church, Braintree. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Friday, January 5th, from 4:00 – 8:00 PM. Burial in Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett.
