JENKINS, Beatrice A. “Bea” (Hunt) of Braintree formerly of Brockton and Avon passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family December 20, 2017 at the age of 95. Beloved wife of the late William J. Jenkins and loving mother of Carolyn J. Jenkins of Randolph, Robert W. Jenkins of Columbus, OH, Russell W. Jenkins, Ret. Chief of Police Town of Braintree, and his wife Mary of Braintree, Richard G. Jenkins of Braintree, Deborah J. Clark and her late husband Richard of Shelby, NC, the late Marilyn L. Nickerson and William J. Jenkins, Jr. Dear mother-in-law of Peter S. Nickerson of FL. Sister of the late Bradford E. Hunt and Clifford Hunt, both of Brockton. Also survived by 12 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Bea was born in Avon where she grew up and graduated from Avon High School. She has lived in Braintree for the past 62 years and was an active member of the community. She was an active member and office holder of South Congregational Church and then Union Congregational Church, where she held just about every office at the church, including Treasurer and Deaconess. She was a lifelong dedicated volunteer at So. Shore Hospital, Norfolk County Hospital and Braintree Rehab Hospital along with her volunteering at the church. She was also a member the Red Hat Society and the Braintree Women’s Club. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, her greatest joy however, came from spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She will be fondly remembered and sadly missed by all who knew her. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours Friday, Dec. 22, 2017 in the Cartwright-Venuti Funeral Home, 845 Washington St., Braintree MA, from 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM immediately followed by a Funeral Service at 1:30 PM. Private graveside services will take place following the funeral service in Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree MA. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Season’s Hospice of Norwood, MA.
