DAVEY, John Raymond, passed away into eternal rest on October 19, 2017. He was 67 years old. John was born in Winchester, MA and grew up in Stoneham, MA. A longtime resident of Braintree, MA, he was active in the Elks, Knights of Columbus and Braintree Youth Soccer. John was a pioneer in the Environmental Service Industry and a founder of Phoenix Environmental. John was an avid Boston sports fan and he loved the beach. He was a former rugger and loved to cheer on the local rugby teams. He was a loyal friend and always enjoyed a beer and good laughs. Most of all he was a devoted family man, who loved being a dad and grandfather. He is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Carolann Davey, his beloved three sons and their wives, Sean and Tracy Davey of Dedham, Adam and Sara Davey of Walpole, and Brian and Emma Davey of Walpole. He was a proud Grampy to his precious grandchildren Sam, Isla, Nicholas, and Olivia. Brother in law to Joseph and Mary Conte of Hingham, and Uncle to Katelyn and Stephen. Trusty companion to his four legged friend, “Griffin”. Preceded in death by parents John and Virginia Davey, his father and mother in law Albert and Rose Conte, and his precious pooches “Bleu” and “Rugger”. Funeral from the Cartwright-Venuti Funeral Home, 845 Washington St., Braintree, on Monday, October 23rd at 9:00 AM, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM in St. Clare Church, 1244 Liberty St., Braintree. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Sunday, October 22nd from 3:00 – 7:00 PM. Burial will be private.
