JEAN, Max of Mattapan, formerly of Haiti, passed away unexpectedly October 8, 2017 at the age of 77. Beloved husband of Marie Martha (Joseph) Jean. Loving father of Martine Pierre of Bridgewater, Darnelle Madanie Paul of Brockton, Michelet Jean of Bridgewater, Carmelle Jean of West Roxbury, Rousselet Jean of Randolph, Claudia Jean of Hyde Park, Marie Elizabeth Joseph of Dorchester and the late Myrtho Jean, Marie Michelle and Gary M. Jean. Devoted brother of Rodrigue Jean of Mattapan, Wilfred Jean of FL, Erzulie Verrier of FL, the late Edith Pierre, Chesnel Jean, Marie Andre Rene and Glatide Jean. Dear grandfather of Randy Jean, Stanley Jean, Candace Alexandre, Skyllah Alexandre, Gracella Alexandre, Kendra Alexandre, Rachel Paul, David C. Paul, Roudans M. Jean, Amanda Jean, Samantha E. Pierre, Orvin A. Pierre, Courthney L. Normil, Johnaya M. Joseph and Jomarion Joseph. Also survived by several nieces and nephews and a host of dear friends. Max was born in Tabarre, Haiti where he grew up and was educated. He came to the United States in 1973 and has lived in Mattapan for many years. He was an independent owner and operator of taxi cabs in and around the Boston area for many years. He loved what he did and enjoyed going to work every day. His greatest joy, however, came from spending time with family and friends. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours Friday October 20, 2017 from 5:00 to 9:00 PM, in the Cartwright Funeral Home, 419 N. Main St., Randolph MA 02368 followed by a Funeral Mass Saturday October 21, 2017 at 10 AM in St. Angela Church, 1548 Blue Hill Ave., Mattapan MA. Burial will take place in Oak Lawn Cemetery, 427 Cummins Hwy, Boston MA.
