WEST, Betty Jane (Pierce), of Holbrook, formerly of Wellfleet, passed away on August 10, 2017, after a long battle with Alzheimer’s, at the age of 83. Born and raised in Wellfleet, Betty graduated from Wellfleet High School and continued her schooling at Cape Cod Community College. For many years she worked as a bookkeeper at an office supply company. Betty was an accomplished seamstress who made her daughter’s wedding dresses, and was a talented cross stitcher. She enjoyed cooking and was a kind and caring person who was an animal lover. Of all her passions, she most enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren. Betty was the wife of the late Charles M. West. Loving mother of Wallace Eldredge of Holbrook, Natalie West and her fiancé Lee of Holbrook, Nancy Taddia and her husband Alan of Falmouth, Charles West, Jr. and his wife Denise of Holbrook and Diane Stickles of Medford. Sister of the late Leonard A. Pierce, Wallace Pierce and Sylvia Starr. Dear “Grammie” of Jennie Mae, Nathaniel, Amanda, Krysta and Jessica. Also survived by her beloved dog “Tasha”. Reposing at the Cartwright Funeral Home, 68 So. Franklin St. (Rt. 37), Holbrook. A Funeral Service will be held on Monday at 10:00 AM in the Funeral Home. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Sunday 4:00 – 8:00 PM Burial in the Wellfleet Cemetery. Should friend’s desire, memorial contributions may be made in her name to the Alzheimer’s Association, 309 Waverley Oaks Rd, Waltham, MA 02452.
