REMEKIE, Leon V., of Randolph, formerly of Ham Walk, St. Catherine, Jamaica, passed away after a brief illness on August 7, 2017, at the age of 87. Born and raised in Ham Walk, Jamaica, Leon has been a resident of Randolph for the past 4 years. Before his retirement he worked as an insurance salesman. Leon was a Veteran of the Jamaican Army. He was a “Jack of all Trades” and could fix anything. Leon was an active member of the First Baptist Church in Randolph, where he was in the Men’s Fellowship and he also enjoyed music and singing. Leon will be greatly missed by all who were blessed to have known him. He is survived by his beloved wife Barbara Remekie. Loving father of Dorette Forrester of Randolph, Claudette Harris of Spanish Town, Jamaica, Rhona Remekie of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, Leona Remekie of Kingston, Jamaica, Sherryleen Remekie Reid of Montego Bay, Jamaica and Janine Remekie of Kingston, Jamaica. Devoted brother of Linnette “Bertha” Remekie of Ham Walk, Jamaica, Alicia Remekie of Kingston, Jamaica and Dixie Remekie of Spanish Town, Jamaica. Dear grandfather of Dayne, Osei, Tamyka, Dana, Shamar, Danyelle, Leslie, Jonte and Zayden, and great grandfather of Koen and Isaiah. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a visitation period on Friday, August 11th from 10:00 – 11:00 AM in the First Baptist Church, 518 No. Main St., Randolph, immediately followed by a Funeral Service at 11:00 AM. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Leon’s name to the First Baptist Church Building Fund, 518 No. Main St., Randolph, MA 02368.
