Paul was born in Barnstable MA in 1947. As a young child, he moved to Boston with his mother and many aunts and uncles. The Fernandes have always been a very close-knit family. Paul was an intelligent graceful man who respected and helped out his family and friends whenever asked.
Paul served as a Finance Committee member and Chair in Randolph. In 2010 Paul became a Selectman. He continued to serve as a Town Councilor and for one term President. He recently led the effort to approve the completion the Randolph Intergenerational Community Center.
Paulís passion for serving his community extended into his work as a president of the West Medford Community Center, board member of South Shore Stars and Milton Hospital. Paul obtained an Associates, Bachelors and MBA degrees from Northeastern University and worked as an Aircraft Engineer, owned a computer repair shop, was a Computer Systems Developer, and a Transportation Manager.
Some of Paulís favorite things were playing poker, golf, traveling, music and time with family. We loved hearing his beautiful singing voice. Forever my darling....
Paul has a quiet graceful presence of strength, knowledge, and compassion. He is often referred to as "a man of reason" by Randolph residents; "Cool Hand Luke" by some of his friends; and "Babe" by his wife who he affectionately called "Sunshine" every morning.
Paul will be missed by a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, friends and family. He went home July 17, 2017. He lives in our hearts forever.
