RITCHIE, Logan “Rex” Augustus, of Boston, passed away peacefully on May 8, 2017, at the age of 86. Born and raised in Deadman’s Cay, Long Island, Bahamas. After arriving in the United States, Rex had worked as a truck driver and then later was a I.T.O.A. cab driver for over 40 years in the city of Boston. He had a passion for history, geography, music, especially James Brown and love cooking for his family. He was an avid fan of the Celtics,Red Sox & Patriots. Logan was a former member of the ELKS Lodge in Mattapan and a former member of the Nation of Islam where he was part of the Fruit of Islam. Logan was the son of the late Arlington Leopold Ritchie and Georgianna Maria (Darville) Ritchie. Logan was the husband of the late Katherine Delores (Coleman) Ritchie, whom he was married to for 42 years. He was one of fourteen children which includes his brothers, Leopold, Alfred, Vernon, Clinton, Frank, Talbot and Winston and his sisters, Antionette, Pearl, Eloise, Pamela, Dr. Mary and Virginia. He leaves to mourn his passing six children:Sonya Ritchie-Wilkerson, Logan Ritchie, Jamilla Ritchie, Remetrious Rogers, Dora Taylor and Kimberley Nicholson. Father-in-law to Mike Wilkerson, Jay Rogers, Alisa Ritchie, Oriel Grazette & Richard Taylor. Dear grandfather of Derrell Ritchie, Amariah Ritchie, Lanai Ritchie, Isaca Escudero, Ulpiano Pena Jr, Michelle, Latryce Wilkerson, Darryl, Davonte, Richard Jr Taylor, Cheryl, Gwendolyn, Kym, Hassan Nicholson. Also survived by many great grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, many loved ones and friends in both Massachusetts and the Bahamas. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a Memorial Service on Thursday, May 18, 2017 from 11:00AM-12:00PM in the Cartwright Funeral Home, 419 No. Main St. (Rt. 28) Randolph.
