BRATHWAITE, Dorothy E. (Wilson) of Holbrook, formerly of Cambridge, passed away peacefully on March 3, 2017, surrounded by her loving family, at the age of 93. Born and raised in Cambridge, Dorothy worked for Raytheon Corp making parachutes during WWII. She worked as a beauty consultant and had a very successful career with Lady Finelle. She was an active member of the Union Baptist Church in Cambridge and then later, her and her late husband Cecil became involved with the Brookville Baptist Church in Holbrook. She was a member of the Red Hat Society. Dorothy enjoyed vacationing at her summer home in Hyannis on the Cape, taking cruises and trips to the casino. Dorothy was the wife of the late Cecil L. Brathwaite. Loving mother of Vera Oliver of CA, Steven Brathwaite and his wife Donna of Dedham and Michele Brathwaite-Smith and her husband Pastor Larry of Stoughton. Sister of late Arthur Wilson, Ethel Wilson-Brown and Robert Wilson. Dear sister-in-law of Lucinda Kennedy-Tate of W. Medford and Elberton Braithwaite and his wife Dorothy of NY. Grandmother of Troy, Stevon, Nicole, Adrian, Nina, Logan, Taylor and Shelby. Also survived by her 8 great grandchildren. The family would also like to thank Dorothy’s caregivers, Maria Calixte and Jasmine Wiley. Reposing at the Cartwright Funeral Home, 419 No. Main St. (Rt. 28) Randolph. Relatives are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours on Thursday, March 9, 2017 from 3:30 – 5:00 PM, immediately followed by a Funeral Service at 5:00 PM in the Funeral Home. Graveside service will be on Friday, March 10, 2017 at 10:45 AM in the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne and everyone is welcome to attend. Dorothy will be greatly missed by all who were blessed to have known her.
