COUGHLAN, Charlotte R. (Simmons), of Randolph, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, on February 28, 2017, at the age of 92. Born in Cambridge to the late Joseph and Isabelle Simmons, Charlotte was raised in Medford and graduated from Medford High School. For 30 years she worked at Jordan Marsh at South Shore Plaza in Braintree. Charlotte prayed the Rosary daily and was an active member of St. Mary’s Church in Randolph. She will be fondly remembered for her love of family and friends, driving to Church and Dunkin Donuts, as well as for always bringing a box of munchkins wherever she went. Every conversation would end the same way; with her telling you, “I love You and God Bless You”! Charlotte was the loving mother of John Coughlan and his partner Bob Kahan of New York, NY, Brian Coughlan and his former wife Michelle of Harwich and Joseph Coughlan and his wife Holly of Franklin. Dear “Grandma” of Connor, Joshua, Kelly, Tara, Brooke and Kendall. She was the loving “Mommy Char” to Monica Reilly of Norwell and many other nieces and nephews. Charlotte was preceded in death by her sister Lenore Simmons Wells, her former husband Jack Coughlan and her nephew Gary Wells. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a visitation period on Friday, March 3, 2017 from 8:30 – 10:30 AM in the Cartwright Funeral Home, 419 No. Main St. (Rt. 28) Randolph. A Funeral Mass will follow at 11:00 AM in St. Mary Church, 211 No. Main St., Randolph. Burial in St. Mary Cemetery, Randolph. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her name to Catholic Charities, 169 Court Street
Brockton, MA 02302. The family would like to give a special thanks to the staff at the Eventide Home in Quincy and the Dwyer House in Weymouth for the exceptional care they provided to Charlotte.
