Graduate of Dorchester High School.

CONNOLLY, OF Braintree, formerly of Dorchester and Galway Ireland, Jan. 25th, after 104 years, Catherine (McDonough), wife of the late Mark Connolly. Loving mother of Mark Connolly of TX, John Connolly of ME, Mrs. Gerald "Mary" Sullivan of Weymouth, Catherine Connolly and Thomas Connolly both of Braintree. Also survived by 7 grandchildren and 3 great grand children. She was 87 years old. She was a retired sales manager for Village Uniform in Canton. Former member of Blue Hills Country Club for 6 yrs. She was a semi professional dancer. She had lived in Brockton for the past 25 years. Before that she lived in Dorchester for many years and previously lived in Revere. Graduated from Revere High School.

Devoted sister of Frederika Fisk of VA. Dear grandmother of Jack R. Hoyt, Jr., Kathleen Charlebois, Jonathon Hoyt, Christopher Hoyt, Deborah Ledig and Scott Ledig. (Rollings) Ledig was born in Boston and died at the Life Care Center of West Bridgewater on Friday, January 19th, at the age of 86. Myrtle has lived in Randolph in the same house that her husband Harold had built for the past 65 years. She was a graduate of Sumner High School. She was very active in the Randolph First Congregational Church serving on many boards and committees including the L.B.A., the Rebecca Circle and the Quilting group. She was also employed in many of the schools in Randolph as a cafeteria worker and later working in the High School swimming pool area as an attendant. She is also a member of the Randolph First Seniors and the Randolph Historical Society.

WHYNOT, life long resident of Randolph accidentally January 15, Carl L. Whynot beloved son of the late Lester E. and Priscilla (Mercer) Whynot. Devoted brother of Lester E. Whynot of Falmouth and Carol F. Whynot of Randolph. Dear uncle of Joseph 'Drew' Whynot of Randolph, Scott Whynot of Randolph, Steven Whynot of Holbrook, Sherri Delmonico of Falmouth, and Nicole McNeil of Bridgewater. Mr. Whynot died Jan. 15th in Randolph as the result of a hit and run auto accident. He was 54 years old. He was a former ware house worker for Radio Shack, of Randolph, Randolph Manufacturing, and was currently working at Stacey's Pita Chip, Co., of Randolph. He was also a former employee of L&W Auto Body, Randolph. Former member of the Randolph Lodge of Elks #2130.

HARRINGTON, of Randolph formerly of Boston Jan. 14, William 'Bill' Harrington beloved husband of Rita A. (Heger) Harrington. Loving father of William Harrington and his wife Susan of Hampstead, NH, David Harrington of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, Robert Harrington of Randolph, Maryellen Harrington of Honokaa, HI, and Rita Fraser and her husband James of Randolph. Dear grandfather of Suzanne and Laura Harrington, Bryan and Jessica Fraser. Mr. Harrington died at the age of 72 in St. Joseph Manor Nursing Home, Brockton. He was born in Boston and has lived in Randolph for over 30 years. Bill was the Executive Director of the Cross and Shield Assoc. which is a division of Blue Cross Blue Shield of Boston. He retired in 1984. He had worked there for 27 years. Bill was a WWII US Navy Veteran. He was also the former Hockey Coach for the Cross & Shield Hockey Team. He and his wife Rita enjoyed traveling most especially they enjoyed taking cruises.

ZAPUSTAS, of Randolph formerly of So. Boston Jan. 14 Joseph J. Zapustas beloved husband of the late Barbara M. (Dugan) Zapustas. Loving father of Joseph J. Zapustas Jr. of Randolph, Robert S. Zapustas of Randolph, and Richard P. Zapustas of No. Attleboro. Brother of the late Estelle Zapustas. Dear grandfather of Kristen L. Miranda of Brockton, Ronald J. Zapustas of Miami, FL, Kimberly B. Trapilo of Norwell, Joseph J. Zapustas III of AZ, Lori A. Zapustas of Newton and Paul M. Zapustas of Stoughton. Also survived by his three great granddaughters Jordyn and Devyn Trapilo both of Norwell and Olivia Zapustas of AZ. Mr. Zapustas died at the age of 93. He was born in Boston and grew up in So. Boston. He has lived in Randolph for the past 54 years. Joe was a teacher and coach at Stetson High School from 1943-1953 and from 1952-1977 he was the Director of Athletics and Physical Education at Randolph High School and Director of Recreation from 1952-91. Three years ago the Town of Randolph renamed the Ice Skating Arena to the "Joseph J. Zapustas Arena" in his honor. He is an elected member to the Board of Directors of the Randolph Housing Authority. He graduated from So. Boston High School, participated in Football Track and Baseball and made all scholastic in football.

He attended Saint Anselm's College where he participated in Football, Basketball, and Baseball and made "All Prep" in football and baseball. Joe was also a member of Saint Anselm's Alumni Board and President of "The Golden Anselmians". He Graduated from Fordham University with a Bachelor of Science, participated in Football with Coach Frank Cavanaugh "The Iron General", participated in Baseball with Jack Coffey as Manager and was selected for the All American Baseball from Fordaham. He received Fordhams Achievement Award in Athletics. In 1933 he signed with the Philadelphia Athletics in the American League with Manager Connie Mack. Also in around 1933 he signed with the New York Giants in the NFL with coach Steve Owens. In 1934 – 1935 he played with the Toledo Mudhens in the American Association and football for the Boston Shamrocks in the American Football League. Joe played for the Braintree White Sox around 1938-39. He coached Mission High Football and Basketball around this same time. Around 1940-41-42 he also coached the Quincy Manets a Semi Pro Football Team. In 1981 he was inducted in the Massachusetts Football Coaches Hall of Fame. In 1990 he was inducted into The Stetson/ Randolph High School Hall of Fame. From 1940-67 he was a boxing referee officiating at the bouts of Rocky Marciano, Joe Louis, Willie Pep, Sugar Ray Robinson, Paul Pender, along with numerous amateur and Golden Glove Tournaments. Joe was also a Past President of the Gridiron Club of Greater Boston and a former "Man of the Year" of the Gridiron Club. He was active in Randolph Little League and a Past President of the league. He was a Past Grand Knight of the Randolph Knights of Columbus, Charter member of the Randolph Lodge of Elks #2130. Member of the Randolph Lions Club and founder of the Stetson/ Randolph Hall of Fame.

McGRATH, of Braintree formerly of Dorchester Jan. 5, James McGrath beloved husband of Elizabeth A. (Strickland) McGrath. Loving father of April M. McGrath of Braintree, Jennifer McGrath of E. Boston, Ryan P. and Gregory McGrath both of Revere. Devoted son of Loraine (Gilfeather) McGrath of Braintree and the late Harold McGrath. Dear brother of Loraine Mace of Pembroke, Robert McGrath of Whitman, Harold McGrath of Brockton, Warren McGrath of Ellington, CT, and Kevin McGrath of Braintree. Also survived by 4 grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law. Dear son-in-law of Joan C. and Gilbert Strickland of Holbrook. He was born in Boston, lived in Dorchester and at the age of 9 he moved to Braintree where he has lived for the past 40 years. He has been retired due to illness and disability.

DOMBROWSKI, of Randolph, January 3rd, Beverly R. (Mann) Dombrowski. Beloved wife of Marion "Mike" Dombrowski. Loving mother of Michael Dombrowski of IL, Donald Dombrowski of FL, Robert Dombrowski of Mansfield and James Dombrowski of Brockton. Devoted sister of Ronald Mann of Boston, Barbara Burns of Brockton and the late Emma Byam, George Mann, Norman Mann and Lester Mann. Also survived by 4 grandchildren and one great grandson. She died unexpectedly at the Milton Hospital. She was 77 years old. She was retired from Woodlawn Cleaners and Alden Products of Brockton. She was also retired from Markburton Bindary, Boston. She was a member of St. Bernadette Seniors and First Baptist Church. She grew up in Randolph and graduated from Stetson High School, Randolph.

GRAY of Quincy after a long illness Jan. 2, Harold "Harry" Gray, husband of the late Josephine (Szymczak) Gray. Loving father of Louisa H. Clerici and her husband Rick of Holbrook and Lawrence A. Gray of Braintree. Brother of the late George Gray, Randolph Gray, Dorothy Tibbetts, and Carrie Berrigan. Dear grandfather of Jonathan P. Gray and Jessica E. Gray both of Abington. He came to the US at the age of 5. He grew up in Quincy and attended Quincy Public Schools. Mr. Gray was a retired Postal Clerk at the South Postal Annex in Boston. He had worked there for over 25 years and retired several years ago. He was a WWII US Army Veteran.

LOUGHLIN, in Braintree, formerly of Boston and Galway, Ireland, Jan 2nd, Mary T. Loughlin daughter of the late James and Julia Loughlin. Sister of the late D.
